Job Overview:

Network Engineer

The Network Engineer will support and develop the company’s network infrastructure to meet business objectives. This role includes working with HPC clusters, private cloud systems, and high-performance Ethernet networking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, install, and automate network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
• Install and replace cabling in data centers.
• Diagnose and resolve network issues.
• Manage IP allocations, DNS records, firewall rules, and routing configurations.
• Maintain servers for network services (DNS, DHCP, VPN).
• Document configurations and manage network infrastructure changes.
• Operate under company policies and promote continuous improvement.

Essential Experience:

• Network and security maintenance and upgrades.
• Familiarity with security practices and standards.
• Knowledge of monitoring, network diagnostic, and analytics tools.
• Experience with virtualization and cloud technologies (Kubernetes, Openstack).

Essential Skills:

• Networking fundamentals: Ethernet, BASE-T, MTP fibre, DAC.
• Standards and protocols: 802.3ad bonding, MCLAG, STP, VLANs, IPv4 routing, VRRP, NAT, ARP.
• Linux network configuration: addressing, bonding, bridges, VLANs, firewall configuration.
• Network performance issue diagnosis.

Desirable Skills:

• Automation with Ansible.
• Basic Python programming.
• Experience with Terraform, Git, VXLAN, dynamic routing (BGP, OSPF), IPsec, WireGuard, OpenVPN.
• Familiarity with IPv6, Linux knowledge (firewalld, iptables, nftables).
• Experience with HPC, hardware offload technologies, and various virtualization platforms (Proxmox, Libvirt, Openstack, vsphere).
