Senior QA Engineer (Automated) - Permanent

Full Remote forever (contractual)- UK based ONLY (quarterly social meet ups - paid expenses)

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer experienced in automation and adept at sharing your knowledge and helping others deepen their skills. You'll be comfortable in an Agile environment and already familiar with cloud native development.

In this role, you'll have plenty of scope to continue your development as well as bringing new ideas and solutions/technology into the team. We'd be delighted if you could contribute to the continual improvement of our ways of working and technical excellence.

Expect to work in a collaborative, product led and customer focused team, where you pair across functions and aim to become T-shaped. We want to ensure we get the best outcomes for our customers, and that depends on getting the best out of each member of our team.

Experience/Skills

These are some of the skills and experience we're looking for in this position. Don't worry if you don't tick every box, having a positive attitude towards learning new technologies and techniques will be highly advantageous. It's important to us that we support you in your role and help you to develop along the way.

  • BDD - Cucumber/Gherkin
  • Cypress
  • Selenium
  • AWS - including Serverless - some familiarity
  • Competence with any of our languages: Java/SpringBoot, Typescript/Angular, NodeJS (and relevant testing frameworks)
  • API Testing
  • Agile development
  • Microservices, Event-based architecture, DDD
  • DevOps - CI/CD, automation, Docker

Person Specification

  • Growth mindset and curiosity: We are still working on ways to make our systems, processes, software, and everything we do, better. We'll expect you to have a voice, raise any issues and bring innovation.
  • Teamworking: We will achieve more by working together to achieve common goals. We need people who know their own strengths and weaknesses, and can empathise with others.
  • Tenacious: we need people who are tenacious and resilient and who don't get downhearted if results don't go their way; we are a scale-up and things change rapidly - you need to find that exciting, not frustrating.
  • Ownership: we are looking for people who take the initiative to fix shared problems and move forward fast. There is no time for blame or fault.

Benefits

  • Remote First Working - Ergonomic home setup including laptop, monitors, peripherals, etc, but the freedom to take your work to a cafe or shared work space, whatever suits you
  • Flexibility - Work around the core hours - make time for the school run, the doctor - we're serious about work/life balance
  • Feel Good Fridays - Half days to get out and enjoy life!
  • Quarterly company events with expenses paid, to meet up and get to know each other better
  • Supported learning - There will be so much to learn on the job, but we want everyone to develop and grow, so we promote self-learning - e.g. paying for AWS certification exams
  • Plus - Up to 30 days annual leave, Life Insurance, Private Healthcare, Company Pension and a competitive salary!
